Galway Cathedral’s Live Crib will be open on Thursday, 15 December 2022 from 11:30am to 4.00pm.
The Live Crib, which has been a very important part of Christmas preparations in the city for many years, features a life-size traditional Bethlehem nativity scene together with real farm animals. Cathedral parishioners take on the roles of Mary, Joseph, Jesus and the shepherds, with choirs from the local schools singing Christmas carols throughout the day.

He loves, He hopes, He waits. If He came down on our altars on certain days only, some sinner, on being moved to repentance, might have to look for Him, and not finding Him, might have to wait. Our Lord prefers to wait Himself for the sinner for years rather than keep him waiting one instant.
St Julian Peter Eymard
Love is not blind, that is the last thing that it is. Love is bound, and the more it is bound the less it is blind.
~ GK Chesterton
