Yet despite all of these things, those in charge of Knock Shrine allowed the holy site to be used to rehabilitate US President Joe Biden’s image with potential Catholic voters as he prepared his election bid with a cynical visit to Ireland.

His average disapproval rating is over 50 percent, as American voters have turned on him following his divisive presidency, which has seen the country experience terror attacks against prolife organisations, massacres at Christian schools by Trans activists and his often criticised handling of the Ukraine War.

Many Irish Catholics were upset that the shrine at Knock had been allowed to be exploited in this fashion, with Mass and Confession temporarily suspended in order to visit the de facto re-election launch.
